Patch 7
Exploring ideas, building my projects and documenting progress.
Patch 7 is a place for things I’m curious about, things I’m building, and things I’m trying to understand.
I started my career at a firm investing in startups in London, which gave me an early interest in how businesses are built, why some ideas work and others don’t, and the relationship between technology, capital and execution. My career since has taken me in a very different direction, but that interest has stuck.
More recently, I started learning to code. Not with the ambition of becoming a software engineer, but because I wanted to understand how digital products actually work — and to be able to take an idea and make something functional myself.
Patch 7 grew out of that. It’s part blog, part project journal and part sandbox. I use it to explore ideas, document things as I build them, and record what I learn along the way. Some projects might become useful; others will probably go nowhere. Both are worth documenting.
The subjects will inevitably wander: technology, AI, cybersecurity, business, markets, strategy and whatever else has caught my attention. Alongside the writing are practical experiments — small applications, tools and projects built primarily through learning by doing.
I’m particularly interested in the space between an idea and its execution: how products get built, how technology changes what is possible, and how relatively simple tools can be combined to solve useful problems.
Patch 7 itself is one of those experiments. It started as a design in Figma and became a working website while I learned the basics of web development, Git, APIs and deployment. Rather than hiding that process, the point is to document it.
This isn't intended to be a polished collection of finished work. It's a record of things in progress.
